Two of the biggest events in international higher education will combine in 2022 to form Global Education Festival UK, a celebration of one of the UK’s best assets - its strong, vibrant and diverse international education sector.

The UK is proud to become the home of over 500,000 international students per year who come to the UK to study, either at one of its many diverse universities, or its rich range of international schools, or while visiting the UK for a shorter time to undertake a language course, cultural immersion trip or an industry-focused internship.

The country is proud to be building cultural ties with future goodwill ambassadors around the world and Global Education Festival UK will raise the profile of our successful industry, with two dove-tailed events, UUKi’s flagship International Higher Education Forum happening online and The PIE Live: Leaders in International Education two-day event happening in London.

An international student roundtable to enable an authentic testimony about the reality of being an international student in the UK will be a centrepiece of The PIE Live event, with students sourced by supporting partners UUKi, IndependentHE, English UK, COBIS and IKCISA. GlobalEdFest partners will also be collaborating to produce a series of video diaries from students in the country. We will be encouraging other students and professionals working to support students to get involved using the hashtag #GEF22.

The International Higher Education Forum will focus on identifying and responding to emerging challenges and aims to help international leadership teams anticipate the unexpected and face head-on the biggest challenges that are around the corner for international education. Tweets will be under #IHEF22.

The PIE Live: Leaders in International Education will bring together leaders and aspiring leaders working in international education to learn about subject areas and products that will enhance their ability to excel in their careers. Building knowledge and networks, the two-day event from The PIE News team will enable connections between those working in higher ed, edtech and private education businesses. We will be tweeting under #PIELive22.
